somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.
and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.
I'm not sure if it helps, but it does entertain me
Fun fact! According to folklorists, all myths, fairy tales and nursery rhymes that are about some dude named Jack are talking about the same guy
What this means is, that ever single one of the following
- Jack Be Nimble (who jumped over burning candles for fun)
- Jack the Giant Killer (who sold his cows for magic beans then robbed and killed a giant)
- Stingy Jack (who tricked the devil so many times he was banned from both afterlives)
- Jack of Jack and Jill (who splattered his head open falling down a hill)
- Jack o’ Lantern (the headless horseman spirit of halloween)
- Jack Frost (the spirit who heralds the end of autumn and the start of winter)
Are literally the same jackass who made so many bad life choices he ended up an immortal ice dullahan with a pumpkin serving as both his head and flashlight
I guess you could call him a jack of all trades
Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
the internet is so cool. I can post something online like
"hey if you're a twink then solve this equation: 4x + 2 = 46"
and inevitably at least ONE twink will find this post and solve for x. it's just a guarantee
we are all connected through this digital space. the assistance of a twink is merely a tumblr post away
calling every gnc cis person you see an "egg waiting to crack" even as a joke is not cool or funny at all actually it is extremely invasive and weird and you are just reinventing gender roles but making it "progressive"
This kind of behavior REALLY hurts GNC transmasc people because so many of these posts imply even unintentionally that a man who does any slightly feminine thing isn't really a man and I'm sick of it
Hey. Gentiles. Listen up for a sec.
When September and October are nearing and you’re planning an event: google “Rosh Hashanah *year*” and *Yom Kippur *year*” and then, and I cannot stress this enough, don’t plan your event on those days. In fact, don’t plan any events starting sundown the night before. Those are the three most important days of the Jewish calendar, and, once again, I cannot stress enough how much this little bit of forethought and kindness will make every Jew you know cry tears of joy.
